Civil ceremonies

Civil Weddings held in Italy are legally recognized in your home country. Italian law states that civil ceremonies must take place in buildings approved by the Italian authorities and in Italy there are some between the most beautiful locations for a civil ceremony: ancient palaces, castles, outdoor locations.

The ceremony will be performed in Italian by the Mayor or a functionary and will be translated by the official interpreter. Two witnesses are requested, we can help in case you need. You will receive an international wedding certificate that can be registered in your country.

The ceremony lasts about 20 minutes. The articles of the Italian Civil Code and the traditional marriage vows will be read. You can personalize your ceremony with music, poetry, selected readings if you wish.

Italian law states, for women, that 300 days must have passed since the date of Decree Absolute, before they can remarry. This does not apply to the groom.
